THE CHALLENGE

GLOBAL RESOURCES. LOCAL TEAMS. NO SHARED OPERATING MODEL.

As creative demand increased across entertainment and gaming clients, our production model needed to evolve with it. Following the integration of teams across the U.S. and international resources in London, Japan, the Philippines, and Mexico, the opportunity wasn’t simply to add more resources—it was to rethink how those teams worked together. The challenge was to create a global production system capable of supporting high-volume, always-on creative while improving speed, efficiency, visibility, and cost.

MY ROLE

TURNING DISTRIBUTED TEAMS INTO ONE PRODUCTION ECOSYSTEM.

As the U.S.-based creative operations lead, I led the integration of a 12-person U.S. team with 30+ international resources across four regions. I developed the operational infrastructure required to make global collaboration work in practice: resource-sharing workflows, production schedules, availability trackers, briefing standards, secure file-sharing processes, and handoff procedures designed to keep projects moving across time zones.

At the same time, I oversaw multidisciplinary teams across strategy, creative, editorial, and marketing while managing resource and financial planning across $2M–$5M annual client portfolios.

THE SOLUTION

FOLLOW THE SUN.

We established a follow-the-sun production model that allowed creative work to move between regions as teams came online and offline. Instead of work stopping at the end of the U.S. day, projects could be handed to international teams for continued production, revisions, or client feedback before returning to the U.S. team the following morning. The model required more than scheduling across time zones. We standardized how projects were briefed, tracked, handed off, reviewed, and delivered so teams in different regions could operate as one production ecosystem.

THE OPERATING SYSTEM

SCALE REQUIRED MORE THAN TIME ZONES.

01 / RESOURCE PLANNING — Shared visibility into global capacity and availability.

02 / STANDARDIZED BRIEFS — Clear production direction built for seamless international handoffs.

03 / GLOBAL HANDOFFS — Defined procedures for transferring work, feedback, and source files.

04 / CENTRALIZED TRACKING — Real-time visibility into creative status, scope, resources, and deadlines.

05 / QUALITY CONTROL — Consistent review and delivery standards across every region.

THE IMPACT

A GLOBAL TEAM BECAME A 24-HOUR PRODUCTION ENGINE.

The new model doubled creative capacity while accelerating turnaround by a full 24 hours. It supported 20+ global clients, enabled the delivery of thousands of creative assets, and optimized international staffing in a way that reduced operational costs by approximately $1M per quarter.

BEYOND PRODUCTION

BETTER OPERATIONS CREATED ROOM FOR GROWTH.

The global production model became part of a broader approach to managing multimillion-dollar client portfolios, expanding long-term agency relationships, and developing scalable production strategies for new business. Across my time at DMM, I partnered with executive, strategy, and business development teams across hundreds of RFPs and pitches, helping develop production strategies, staffing models, and budget forecasts that contributed to more than $10M in new business.

WHAT I TOOK FROM IT

SCALING CREATIVE PRODUCTION ISN'T ABOUT ADDING MORE PEOPLE. IT'S ABOUT BUILDING THE SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS GREAT PEOPLE TO DO THEIR BEST WORK TOGETHER.

By combining production knowledge with resource planning, workflow design, and global collaboration, we turned geographic complexity into an operational advantage.
